About The Owner

My Name is Oredola Aduke Edwards-Wetstone, and I am the heart and hands behind Your True Colors.

Currently married with one daughter, I was born and raised in Harlem, New York City, to two immigrant parents who came to the United States from Antigua, West Indies in the early 1970's. Growing up in a vibrant, culturally rich household alongside my sister shaped my appreciation for diversity, creativity and self-expression.

I attended Tuskegee University in the early 1990's, but returned home to NYC to complete my Bachelor's degree program when sickness struck my immediate family. During my time at Tuskegee, I became a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in 1993 - an experience that continues to influence my values of Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood, Finer Womanhood and excellence.  I later went on to earn a Master's degree in Human Resource Management, blending my creative spirit with strong business foundations. My HBCU experience is very near and dear to me, and I ALWAYS make sure to rep Mother Tuskegee every chance I get because it's where I obtained the meat and bones of my college education.

Your True Colors YTC was born in 2020 during one of the most difficult seasons of my life.  After losing my father during the pandemic - a time when the world felt especially heavy and uncertain - I turned to creativity as a way to cope, heal and reconnect with joy.

My father was an extraordinary creative spirit. Without any formal training, he taught himself how to carve beautiful African wood sculptures from scratch - crafting walking sticks and unique decorative pieces that told stories and carried culture. Watching him create left a lasting impression on me. His gift lives on through my work.

I've always been drawn to color, design and self-expression. As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a fashion model, captivated by bold styles and individuality. I never connected with mass-produced fashion - I wanted something different, something meaningful, something that stood out.  That desire became the foundation of Your True Colors.

This brand is my personal expression of boldness, beauty, and originality. Every piece I create reflects my love for being unique and my belief that no one should have to blend in to belong. I design for those who want to stand confidently in who they are - colorful, fearless, and one-of-a-kind.

I am incredibly proud of how far Your True Colors has come, and I remain committed to creating pieces that allow every customer to feel seen, special, and uniquely themselves.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
